The Flex ECT requires switch closure for input. If a sensor is used that outputs 120 volt A.C., such as the popular and inexpensive motion detecting floodlight , a separate relay must be used. Haunt
Master Products offers a specially wired relay called the INTERFACE
for this and other purposes related to our products.

1)
The following diagram illustrates this INTERFACE connected between 120
volt A.C., as from a motion detecting floodlight, to the input terminals
of a Flex ECT.
![]() Another application for this INTERFACE would be to obtain switch closure from the Flex ECT or RCT. In this case the INTERFACE would be plugged into the receptacle on these haunt timers. A switch closure is obtained at the terminal strip whenever the receptacle is energized. Common uses would include: a) triggering a Flex ECT with a Combo Flex ECT and b) triggering a low voltage device such as a digital sound source from any of our timers. Also tape players with a monitor jack can trigger directly from the terminal strip of the INTERFACE. ![]()
3) This diagram, above, illustrates how the INTERFACE connects between a low voltage device, like a low voltage air solenoid valve, and a low voltage power supply like a wall transformer. You must "break into" either one of the two low voltage wires leading from the power supply and connect these ends to the terminal strip of the INTERFACE . This circuit will then allow the 120 volt AC power output from the timer's AC socket to turn a low voltage device (solenoid valve) ON and OFF.
